Ross Silcocks, Koh Phangan
Biography
Ross Silcocks is a filmmaker, director of photography, and visual artist born in Bristol, UK. Since 2019 he has spent the majority of his year on Koh Phangan, where the island's light, pace, and landscape have shaped an evolving body of photographic and digital work.
His work spans photography, digital illustration, and textiles -- interconnected through a preoccupation with stillness, colour, and the moment just before things change. The Book of Spirits series explores the invisible structures beneath experience -- cellular, cosmological, emotional.
Ross co-founded Spirit House Gallery on Walking Street, Koh Phangan, in 2023 alongside Alfred Charles, with the intention of making a space where original art and community creativity could share the same room.
